Mia Fiehler 2019 Lucia

Mia Fiehler is honored to be crowned this year’s 2019 Lucia. Mia has been participating in the program since she was five years old. She is the daughter of Scott and Christine Fiehler and is a sophomore honor student at Webster Groves High School. Mia is very involved in dance and has been dancing since the age of four.

She was a student at the Dance Center of Kirkwood for ten years, a member of the Webster Groves High School dance team and is a current student of dance at COCA. She performs in the areas of ballet, pointe and modern dance. Mia is also a gifted artist. She has painted several murals in the halls of Webster Groves High School. She is currently working on her third mural and will begin her fourth later this year. She enjoys volunteer work and loves traveling with her family.

After college, she plans to pursue a career as a physician’s assistant. Mia’s Scandinavian heritage comes from her grandparents. Her grandfather, Nils Sture Mattsson was from Arvidsjuar, Sweden and her grandmother Tora Mattsson née Backlund, is a Swedish speaking Finn from Närpes, Finland. Every year Mia looks forward to celebrating Swedish Christmas traditions with her family.
